NINE HOLE LADIES GOLF LEAGUE…(AKA, NINE AND DINE GROUP)
Although we had a sell out crowd for the Husband/Wife Tournament, Mother Nature had her way with us and we were forced to cancel due to rain. However, our wonderful dinner went as planned. We will have a make-up day on Wednesday, June 28th at 3:00 PM. Those golfers that were originally scheduled to play will automatically be scheduled to play again, with the original “wait” list intact. If you are unable to play on that date, please let Fran Mellios, at 910.215.0738 know right away. The original “wait” list will be used to fill in the new vacant spots. There will be no dinner on this date. The manner in which prizes will be awarded will be announced at a later date,
June 6th marks the day that our new tee-time of 9:30am begins. Please arrive for golf at 9:00am to sign-in and sign-up for the dollar game of the day, if you plan to participate. Announcements and pairing begins at 9:15am, and we tee off at 9:30am. We will play nine and then we will dine at 11:30am.
Our president, Sue Rantala will be away for three weeks, so if you have any questions about the Nine Hole Golf League’s activities, or wish information on joining this great group of women, please call Fran Mellios at 215.0738.
Don’t forget about the Longleaf Invitational on June 15th. If you have signed-up, be sure to get your checks in for lunch.
Please be sure to look at the scrap book in the ladies locker room for updated pictures of our events.
It is wonderful to be golfing and laughing again. I have missed you.
See you on the course…Sue Wisniewski

NEWS, NEWS & MORE NEWS…
We have completed another busy spring with many successful Golf and Social events, thanks to all the members for their support.
As has been mentioned on numerous occasions, the front nine of the Magnolia Golf Course will close on the 5th of June for greens renovation. As was the case last year, work is already well underway, with irrigation parts already arriving and some of the green complexes undergoing some interesting new design changes. Again, much time, effort and planning has been put in place to ensure that the various aspects of the renovation will go as smoothly as possible. This includes having enough tee times available on the 39 remaining holes, to arranging for new scorecards, to ensure appropriate design changes to the front nine of the Magnolia, and much more. With the earlier start than last year, we expect to finish sooner, which will allow the Bermuda grass more time to get established and hopefully prevent the problems that we had with some of the sod as we came out of the spring season.
If any members have questions related to the reconstruction…please email them toknjunk@nc.rr.com or call me or stop by my office.
The Pool opened on the 22nd, of May…it should be warming up nicely soon. We hope you enjoy the facilities this summer. Management is determined that the pool is enjoyed in a safe and orderly manner. Please ensure that you, your family members and all guests are aware of the various rules associated with the pool…there will be zero tolerance for those not abiding by the rules.
We continue to receive complaints about unauthorized individuals being on the Golf Course during the hours of “golf play”. Please remind your family members and guests not to walk, jog or conduct other recreation activities on the course when golf is being played.
Thanks for your assistance.
All the best for the summer, and we look forward to seeing you at the various events.
Christopher Little
Club Manager
