Watch the bulletin board in the locker room for more information on this event. Sign-up and deposit your checks in the locker room as usual.

PINEWILD WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION
Spring has arrived finally. Enjoy these wonderful days while you can. Our organization is off to a busy start. We already have three “Aces of the Day”…Sandra Schnare, Joan Vincent and Jean Grieshaber. Congratulations ladies. Make sure you sign up for future “Aces of the Day”. Most are scheduled before the course renovation begins. This is the reason the beginning of the season seems to be mostly Peer Play.
We now have 182 members and growing. In the few number of play days we have had, we already have 94 ladies with points awarded, and the Birdie Tree is getting full already. Keep up the good work.
Yours truly had an eagle on number 5 of the Holly last month. Make sure you let our publicity chairperson know of your eagles and all those holes in one about to be made. Also, let a board member know if you have a lowest round on either course.
Speaking of low rounds, we would like to acknowledge those who have accomplished the lowest rounds on the Magnolia. We’re trying to establish a course record list. If you have had a round in the 70’ please let me know so we can compile a list of the lowest 5. I have spoken with a few of our long-time members and they came up with a 74 for Kay Beran and I know we have rounds lower than that from our current members.
Thanks and congratulations to all for the donations that were made for the phone cards for our returning injured troops at Fort Bragg. We were able to send phone cards totaling $840.00…”Kudos to all”
The Holly/Pines tournament was held this past week and the Holly teams pulled it out this year. A challenge has been made for next year. Don’t forget to sign-up for the Magnolia Challenge which is fast approaching. This is basically the only match play event we hold each year and is a lot of fun. Look for sign-up sheet in the locker room.
On May 10th be prepared for the Pinewild Biker Babes on the Magnolia Course as our yearly Member/Guest will be a happening.
Many thanks to the pro shop and kitchen staff for all their help running our tournaments.

NINE-HOLE LADIES’ LEAGUE
Hello to all the Nine Hole Ladies. We have a full house signed-up for the Husband/Wife “It’s a Shoe In” tournament on May 1st. I will let you know the results of the round in the next newsletter. The tournament committee has put together a fine plan for the day. The husbands will only be allowed to use 2 clubs plus a putter for the round. It will be easy to tell which ball is theirs on the course, because they will all be playing with PINK golf balls. The menu sounds delicious. This is good, because in case of rain, we still get to have dinner.
Our next tournament event will be held on June 2nd, THURSDAY. This is the Longleaf/Pinewild Invitational. The sign-up sheets will be in the locker room. Sign-up early, we will take the first 36 golfers and then have an “Alternates” list. The fee is 15.00 which include lunch and prize money plus your regular golf fee. Deadline for sign-up is Wednesday, May 25th. We will register at 9:30 and Tee off at 10:00. Listen to this menu the tournament committee has put together.
Tri Colored Tortellini, Italian Dressing, Fresh Basil, Green Onions, Black Olives, Cubed Cheese, Grated Carrots and Broccoli Floweret all on a bed of lettuce…Tomato Slices, Fresh Mozzarella and Basil on the side…with Bread and Butter…Coffee, Ice Tea, and Lemonade…STRAWBERRY TRIFLE WITH POUND CAKE AND WHIPPED CREAM for dessert.
Wait until you see the nifty center pieces they have come up with. We have a SUPER tournament committee.
If there is anyone interested in joining this fun group of golfers, who love lunch and laughter, pick up a membership application in the locker room. It is only $18.00 for the year. We promise you will find friends you haven’t met yet.
“hit em” long and straight…Sue Wisniewski
